I’ve been looking for a boat for the past 6+ months. The boats I have looked at were either a little too rich or the engines were a little too dated. This beauty is a 1990 Grady White Sailfish 25 (28′). Although she is 25 years old, the engines are twin 225 Mercury Optimax 2004 models rebuilt in 2011 (less than 300 hours). Cosmetically, she needs a little work but her structure and mechanics are sound – confirmed with a structural and mechanical survey. I’ve never taken on a project quite like this so I hope everything works out as I hope. I have a list of 40 items that I hope to complete in the next 30-45 days. The plan is to hire out 3 of the 40 items (welding repair, a couple of fiberglass repairs and the bottom paint). I am hopeful that I can do the work for the other 37 items. The purpose of this blog is to chronicle all of the changes with before and after photos as well as details of the work done with some video sprinkled in. It’s time to wrap up some loose ends I can begin working on her next week … more to come.
